Recently, the Hong Kong office of Haiwen & Partners welcomed Edward Liu as a partner.

Mr. Liu specializes in commercial dispute resolution and has extensive experience in international arbitration and commercial litigation. He has represented a large number of financial institutions, insurance companies, multinational corporations, non-governmental organizations, Chinese state-owned enterprises and major shipping and trading companies in complex commercial disputes before Hong Kong and English courts and international arbitral tribunals, including international sale and trade of goods and commodities, energy and offshore engineering, shipping and shipbuilding, shareholder and equity-related disputes, international investments (particularly in relation to "the Belt and Road”), construction projects, commercial fraud, bankruptcy and restructuring, regulatory investigations, international sanctions, enforcement of international judgments and arbitral awards, etc. In the area of non-litigation practice, Mr. Liu can provide legal services to banks, insurance companies and trading companies, etc. in asset financing, trade financing and ship financing.

Mr. Liu is qualified to practice Hong Kong, England and Wales and China law. Prior to joining Haiwen, he was a partner in the Hong Kong office of a leading international law firm.
