Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan will open its first office in mainland China with the hire of Samuel Williamson from Kirkland & Ellis.

Samuel Williamson will be the managing partner, and three to five associates will be hired to work alongside him. The team will  mainly advise foreign companies on regulatory matters involving both U.S. and Chinese authorities.

Quinn Emanuel Shanghai office will be its third Asian office. The firm opened in Hong Kong in 2013 and Tokyo in 2007.
