In February of 2017, 13 partners and 40 lawyers included Edwin Luk and Maurice Hoo from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, announced plans for Hong Kong office of Morgan Lewis, and they had set up a local law firm called Luk & Partners in Hong Kong. Also, Morgan Lewis will enter into the association in Hong Kong because of the office.

Jami McKeon, the chairman of Morgan Lewis, said that, “Edwin Luk, Maurice Hoo, and their elite team compete at the highest level in the Hong Kong markets and China markets, and they represent many of our key clients and other leading companies in Asia”. Morgan Lewis hired employment partner K. Lesli Ligorner and a four-lawyer team from Simmons & Simmons in Shanghai in March, and the numbers of employees of Morgan Lewis has exceeded 70 in China and Hong Kong.
