Ashurst Welcomes Five Partners to Energy Team

Ashurst recently welcomed five partners to its Energy and Infrastructure practice group. They are Anna Chung, who will be based in Seoul, Jean-Louis Neves Mandelli and Scott Baggett, both based in Singapore, and Sanja (Sonny) Udovicic, a project finance legal expert based in London, while the London office also welcomes back Julia Derrick, a specialist in energy M&A and project development law.

Anna has nearly two decades of experience advising on the development and financing of energy and infrastructure projects for lenders and sponsors, including export credit agencies (ECAs) and development banks. Her practice covers the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions and she has provided legal support to numerous award-winning projects and first-of-its-kind local transactions.

Jean-Louis Neves Mandelli specializes in advising major sponsors and lenders on the development and financing of major energy and infrastructure projects, with a practice covering Asia, the Middle East, the Portuguese-speaking Africa region and Brazil.

Scott has 22 years of experience practicing law and has advised numerous sponsors and lenders on financing and development, joint venture and restructuring issues in the power, renewable energy, oil and gas, mining and infrastructure sectors.

Sonny has a long-standing focus on energy development and financing-related businesses, including renewable energy, nuclear energy, energy transition and innovation, natural resources, infrastructure, telecommunications and media projects, and related M&A transactions, with nearly three decades of advisory experience.

Julia has extensive experience in handling M&A, project development and commercial contracts in the energy sector, with a particular focus on the upstream oil and gas, LNG and energy transition businesses.
